for Auto Dealers on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 by Ashten Mays

As you may recall reading in previous ADD news articles, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is currently modernizing their Electronic Temporary Registration (ETR) system as well as their Electronic Filing System (EFS).

ADD is excited to announce that it was one of the first vendors to pass structured testing for the new ETR system! And will be running its ETR pilot program with several ADDTag dealers over the summer making sure the new features and enhancements are all functioning properly, with plans to begin transitioning dealers to the updated service later this year.

Also, later this summer after the programming is released by the DHSMV, ADD will begin programming the newly modernized EFS portal. According to the department’s current timeline structured testing will begin this September with hopes of the system being fully available by the beginning of 2016.

ADD has already begun preliminary work on and will be adding the new EFS portal as an option for its ADDTag dealers who are interested in scanning and electronically transferring their title and registration documents to the tax collector as well as issuing metal plates and renewal decals from their stores. More info to come on this new service as it continues to take shape.
