Customer Service Presents: Quick Tips!

ADD has put together a list of the most useful tips and tricks to make using our site even better!

_Passwords and Logging in

_

  • Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Every employee accessing the account must have their own login information.
  • The Contact User can add as many users as desired at no additional cost.
  • When a password is reset through your email, it will often find its way into your ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ folders.
  • Passwords expire every 180 days.
  • For your security, ADD cannot see your password.
  • If you need your password reset, you can request a new one by using the email address we have on file or call one of our friendly Customer Service reps during business hours.

  • A temporary tag can only be voided the same day it was issued, before midnight.
  • You can ‘undo’ a metal-tag transfer at any time.
  • Tag orders that are placed before 3pm Monday-Thursday will be mailed the same day via UPS.
  • UPS tracking numbers for your tag orders can be found under your ORDER TAGS tab.
  • When entering a tag number or VIN, the letter “O” is always a zero.

  • If you need to retrieve a letter that is over 30 days old, you can search for it by using the last six of the VIN in the “VIN/PIC/Tracking #” field.
  • If you’ve sent out letters on a vehicle that you need to report to NMVTIS, you can report it instantly through the letter’s DPO page, free of charge, by clicking on the orange “Report to NMVTIS” button.
  • You can generate the newspaper ad form for your auctions through the DPO portal.
  • The ‘Auction View’ tab will display all your auctions within the selected date range. You can modify your search by changing your date range.
  • To de-clutter your DPO view list, you have the option to mark your packages as “released” or “done” which will hide them from view. You would mark a package “released” if the vehicle was released from your custody (ex. Picked up by the owner) and you would mark a package “done” if you were done with that vehicle (ex. Sold at auction and printed DPO documentation). You can always go back and view “released” and “done” vehicles by clicking on the corresponding links at the bottom of the DPO Post View or Auction View pages.
  • You can create multiple profiles in your ADD account by going to the PREFERENCES tab and creating a profile for each entity, eliminating keystrokes every time you create a letter.
  • You can edit which forms you wish to display in your “Select Form Type” drop down menu at the top of each vehicle or vessel record. Select the PREFERENCES tab, then the FORMS OF INTEREST sub-tab. To remove a form from your preferred list, remove the check-mark from the box to the left of the form name and click “Save Changes.”

  • The Reference-ID field found at the top of each query section is a free tool provided by ADD to assist you in tracking your records. The ID can be any information that you wish to associate with the record in your Archive. It can be a name, account number, policy number or any information of your choosing. The Reference-ID will print on each printout you make of the queried information and may be used as search criteria within your Archive.
  • The ARCHIVE stores Motor Vehicle and Driver License queries requested and the FORMS ARCHIVE sub-tab stores any form that you have created using our Form Tool. These records are stored for 90 days and viewable without additional charge. Select the ARCHIVE tab to view your archived records.
  • The letters “I”, “O” and “Q” never appear in a VIN. If you think you see an “O” or “Q”, it is a “zero” and if you think there is an “I”, it is a “one” or a lower case “L”.

  • Any debits and credits made to your account are posted on the Account Statement page. Your Payment History can be found by selecting the MY ACCOUNT tab, then selecting the ACCOUNT STATEMENT sub-tab.
  • Any deposits made to your pre-paid account balance can be found by selecting the MY ACCOUNT tab, and then the PAYMENT HISTORY sub-tab.
  • The Contact User can add users by going to the MY ACCOUNT tab and selecting the ADD USER sub-tab.
  • The Contact User can also remove users by going to the MY ACCOUNT tab and selecting the REMOVE USER sub-tab. Simply select the user to be removed and select the ‘Remove Selected User’ button. You can restore removed users by selecting the ‘Restore Selected User’ button. To remove a Contact User, the request must be made in writing.
  • You can add credit to your pre-paid account online. Under the MY ACCOUNT tab, select the ADD CREDIT sub-tab. From here, you can add credit via debit/credit card or ACH transfer. You can also generate an invoice to submit to your accounting department.
  • To make things even easier, ADD offers and Auto-Pay option. Under the MY ACCOUNT tab, select the ADD CREDIT sub-tab. Under ‘Select a Payment Method’, select ‘Set up AutoPay’ and review the Terms of Use. From here, you can specify how much you would like to be added when your account goes under the balance amount you decide.
  • Live customer service support is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. EST (7 am - 7 am CST), and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. EST (9 am - 5 pm CST).
